Cutters Studios

President and Managing Director

2024 AICP Post Awards Chairperson

Craig Duncan is the President and Managing Director of Cutters Studios, the international creative company providing top-tier production, post-production, and creative development services for causes, brands, studios, networks, and agencies. With its world-class editorial talents, family values, and strong leadership, Cutters Studios now operates in the top U.S. advertising markets and Tokyo. Through partner companies Cutters, Dictionary Films, Flavor, and Another Country, Cutters Studios represents unlimited production capabilities.

A Detroit native who earned his degree in Theatre from Western Michigan University, Craig began his career in New York City, working on the production staffs at The Public Theater, The Signature Theatre, The Roundabout Theatre, and others. Shifting his focus to television and relocating to LA, his experiences led to a five-year run as Post Production Supervisor for Disney’s “Boy Meets World,” which also involved him serving as Syndication Supervisor for all of Buena Vista Television.

Craig returned home to Detroit in 2000 as the VP and Managing Director of Griot Editorial. A decade later, he joined Cutters Editorial in Chicago as Executive Producer. Becoming a Partner and taking on the company’s Managing Director role in 2013, he was promoted to President a couple years later. By this time, he had served as President of the Association of Independent Creative Editors (AICE) international board for many years. There, he spearheaded major initiatives focusing on transparent business practices as well as diversity and inclusion, and was also instrumental in shaping-up AICE’s 2017 merger with AICP. While also overseeing all Cutters Studios operations, Craig relished his very active roles as a member of the AICP’s National Board, its AICP Post Council, its Executive Awards Committee, and as VP of its Midwest chapter. Across these efforts, he is especially proud of his participation in AICP’s groundbreaking Mentorship Program, with its deep focus on championing human rights and leading innovation in the vital realms of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

With remarkably strong Super Bowl showings year-after-year (talents from Cutters, Another Country, and Flavor consistently contribute to multiple top-rated spots), Cutters Studios is firmly established among the world’s top commercial production, editorial, design, and finishing collaborators. Well worth noting, under Craig’s leadership, the company and its premier artists are also rapidly advancing their presence in film and television entertainment, worldwide.

The role Craig is most proud of is being the father to his incredibly conscientious and talented daughter Isobel. She is the major source of his inspiration and drive to make this a better and more compassionate industry.
